Terms of Service.
Last updated October 21, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Educational Professional Services, doing business as E-Rate Support Services (“E-Rate Support”, “we”, “us”). They cover this website, the applicant portal at app.erate.support and the vendor portal at vendors.erate.support (together, “the services”). By creating an account, starting a trial or paying for a plan, you agree to them. If you use the services for a school, library, district, consortium or company, you agree for that organization and confirm you may do so.
E-Rate consulting that we provide under a separate signed agreement is governed by that agreement, not by these terms.
1. What the services do
The applicant portal shows schools, libraries and the people who help them their E-Rate funding requests, commitments, invoices, Category 2 budgets and deadlines, and can email alerts before deadlines. The vendor portal shows service providers Form 470 bidding opportunities, the documents and requirements behind them, funding and invoicing for their customers, and alerts. Both are built on public data published by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).
2. USAC data, alerts and summaries
- We are not USAC or the FCC and are not affiliated with them. We show USAC’s public data as USAC publishes it. USAC updates its data on its own schedule, usually once a day, so what you see can be a day or more behind USAC’s own systems, and it can contain USAC’s errors.
- Deadlines, alerts and emails are a convenience. They can be late, missing or wrong. You remain responsible for your own E-Rate filings, deadlines, invoices, bids and compliance. Always confirm a deadline or a decision in USAC’s own systems before you act on it.
- Some content is produced automatically, including summaries and requirements read out of RFP documents and the map coordinates of annexes, which are worked out from addresses and are approximate. Check the original document, and check a location on site, before you rely on either for a bid, a price or an installation.
- Nothing in the services is legal, financial or E-Rate compliance advice.
3. Accounts
- Each login is for one person. Keep your password private and tell us at info@erate.support if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity on your login.
- The person who pays for a plan manages it: the districts or territory it covers, and the people invited to it, up to the plan’s limits. People they invite see the same information and lose access if they are removed or the plan ends.
- Anyone may sign up and choose any district by its Billed Entity Number, because the information shown is public. Choosing a district does not mean you represent it.
- Our staff can see your account to support you, including viewing the portal as you see it. When they do, nothing can be changed, a reason is recorded, and the view ends after 30 minutes.
4. Plans, trials and payment
- Plans, their limits and their prices are shown on our pricing pages and when you choose a plan. The price you agree to at checkout is the price you pay.
- Free trials. A trial started with a card turns into the paid plan you chose when it ends, and the card is charged then, unless you cancel before the trial ends. A trial our staff give you without a card simply ends; nothing is charged unless you then choose a plan.
- Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically each month or each year, whichever you chose, at the then current price, until cancelled. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price increase takes effect for you.
- Payment. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Some customers pay by check or bank transfer against an invoice instead. Prices do not include taxes, which are added where required.
- Changing plans. Moving to a larger plan is charged straight away for the rest of the current period, less what is unused on the old plan. Moving to a smaller plan takes effect at once and the lower price applies from the next renewal, without a refund for the current period.
- Failed payments. If a card payment fails, Stripe retries it and we ask you to update the card. If payment cannot be collected, we may pause access until it is.
- Cancelling. You can cancel from your account at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not refund the unused part of a period, except where the law requires it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share a login, or add people beyond your plan’s limits by other means;
- copy, scrape or resell the services or their content in bulk, or build a competing product from them;
- try to reach another customer’s account or information, test our security without written permission, or disrupt or overload the services;
- use the services for anything unlawful, or to send unsolicited messages to the people whose contact details appear in public filings.
6. Your information and ours
You keep what you put into the services, such as your notes, saved opportunities and settings, and you let us store and use it to run the services for you. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. The services themselves, their design, software and the content we create, belong to us. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
7. Suspension and ending
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, does not pay, or puts the services or other customers at risk, and we will tell you why unless the law or the situation prevents it. You can stop using the services and close your account at any time by writing to us. Sections 2, 6, 8, 9 and 10 continue after an account ends.
8. Disclaimer
The services are provided as they are and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that any data, alert or summary is complete or correct.
9. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost funding, lost bids, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim about the services is limited to what you paid us for them in the twelve months before the claim arose.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If a dispute arises, please write to us first; most things can be settled by talking.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the services change. We will post the new version here with its date, and email account holders about any change that matters to them before it takes effect. Using the services after that date means you accept the new terms.
